Douglass (Doug) Rowan Scott is a paralegal with Comstock & Wagner, and has been with the firm since 2014. He worked with Comstock & Wagner first as an intern, and then as a paralegal upon completion of his Associate's Degree in Paralegal Sciences at Allan Hancock College. Prior to becoming a paralegal, Doug earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Enology at Fresno State, and worked as a winemaker in California's Central Coast for over a decade.
Doug entered the Paralegal Studies program after attorney Marie Comstock suggested that his skills and strengths would lend themselves well to legal work. Colleagues appreciate his attention to detail and his ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Doug's responsiveness and ability to answer questions about the legal process also help ease the stress of the clients with whom he deals on a daily basis. Doug's willingness to step up and assist clients with those matters that do not require an attorney's background allows the firm's attorneys to work more efficiently and keep client costs down.
Doug says that working at Comstock & Wagner has opened his eyes to the need for good legal representation for family law issues in the community. He takes pride in helping the firm to provide those issues, and describes his work as rewarding, challenging, and intellectually stimulating, and looks forward to many more years as a member of the Comstock & Wagner team.
